his isn't a CATS story but a old story that i quit working on for unknown reasons. It has like two or three parts before it actually gets started. I'm still trying to find all the pieces to it so bear with me.
Here's what i got so far:
Anoka lay in her bed crying. She knew she had to get out of France. It was supposed to be the city of love and romance but all she had to show for it was her abused body, a severely broken body and her son. Damien was in his room, hopefully asleep. He would be home soon probably drunk. He would come in and beat her. She gave up trying to struggle a long time ago. She didn’t care if he beat her as long as he didn’t touch Damien. Her son meant the world to her. She heard the crunch of gravel outside. She knew what was coming. She heard the door slam. Anoka got up and went to the bathroom. She heard him walking towards their bedroom. She looked at her self in the mirror. Her medium length purple hair, usually shiny and full of life, now hung limply and looked greasy. There were heavy bags under her dull green eyes. Despite her eyes and hair, she managed to keep her skin and teeth in good health. She was also able to keep Damien in good health. She heard him walking towards their bathroom. She looked back up at the mirror and saw him. He wasn’t drunk or wasted or anything. She turned to face him. She let out a sigh she didn’t realize she was holding. He held out a single long stemmed red rose. “ It’s okay, it’s over.” He walked towards her and put her arms around her. “ I promise.” She put her arms around him and closed her eyes.
That promise like all of his other promises didn’t last long.
He hadn’t come home drunk for weeks then one day he did. It started out as a normal day. He left for work early in the morning. Once she was sure he was gone, Anoka got up, got a shower, cooked breakfast for her and Damien. After they ate, they cleaned their small apartment. Then they went to the park to kill some time. Anoka watched Damien play with the other kids at the playground. He was laughing and having fun. This time was rare for them. She let a smile touch her lips. Ever since she had him, he was the sunshine throughout all the darkness she had been living through. She needed to get them both put of this hell. She looked down at her watch. Time to go back. She found Damien playing on the monkey bars. He saw that look on his mom’s face. He knew. He let got of the monkey bars and followed her. They made it home about thirty minutes before he did.
He started to throw stuff and beat Anoka. Damien ran to the living room to protect his mom. There was broken glass everywhere but he didn’t care that it was slicing his feet. His dad was screaming and throwing bottles. Damien saw his mom hiding in a corner. He ran over to her. He planted his feet in front of her. Then he howled in pain as a shard of glass cut his face. There was blood running down his face. He felt hands on him. Then he heard his mom screaming and other voices. The last thing he heard before he blacked out was sirens.
He woke up disoriented in a hospital bed. He felt something on his face and he tried to pull it off. “ No, honey. Keep it on. “ He heard Anoka say. “ I can’t see.’ he said. “ I know you can’t. The glass cut you eye. The doctors had to sew you eye shut to save it.” “ Will I ever see again.?” “ There’s a chance you may not. They don’t know. Why did you jump in front of me?” “ I was trying to protect you.” Anoka about cried. “ Well you don’t have to worry about that now. He’s in Jail.” Then a knock on the door interrupted their conversation. It was Caden, a friend of Anoka’s and one of their neighbors. He had a little girl that was about the same age as Damien. “ Hey, hows it?” “ I’m good but my eye itches like crazy.” “ It will for a while. I bet but at least you both are okay.”
A few weeks later…
Damien’s eye had healed and his vision returned. Now he had a huge jagged scar on his face. With Caden’s help, Damien and his mom moved all their stuff into a friends farmhouse clear on the other side of France. There were mountains and rolling pastures all around the house. It was like they were in heaven. She had did it. She heard Caden mumble something. She looked at him and he said it louder. “ I’m walking away from hell and towards heaven.” She knew that it was true.
((It's really just a preview. let me know what you think of it.))
